Where it is
The city’s Millville CRA page tells its story. Millville grew up in the late 1800s around a sawmill, a shipyard and stores, when settlers on St. Andrews Bay could travel only by boat. By 1910 it was “the largest community around the bay.” It was incorporated in 1913, with W.I. Singletary as its first mayor, and had about 2,000 residents, hotels, a theater and 31 businesses by 1918. In 1926 Millville was annexed into Panama City.
On the city’s golf cart neighborhoods map, Millville lies south of East Business Highway 98, from Watson Bayou east toward North East Avenue, down to the bay around Cherry Street. Glenwood is to the north and the Cove to the west. OpenStreetMap marks Millville as a named place. The area is in ZIP code 32401.
