Most of Panama City’s Mexican restaurants are on 23rd Street, from Chipotle near Highway 77 west to Taco Bell. Elsewhere, Los Antojitos is in historic St. Andrews, Maddie’s La Casita is downtown on Harrison Avenue, Mi Casita Jalisco is on 15th Street and La Michoacana is on West U.S. 98, with Don Jose’s and San Marcos on the U.S. 231 side of town.
How we made this list. We started with OpenStreetMap records inside Panama City’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, and added restaurants from the state’s food service license and inspection records for Panama City, checking each address against the city boundary. We checked every place against its own website on Oct. 10, 2026. Five places have no website we could read; the state’s records show each with an active restaurant license and an inspection this year, and we say so in their entries. Barberitos on West 23rd Street is left out because the chain’s page for it would not load, and licensed taco trucks are left out because they move. A hurricane warning was in effect for Panama City when we checked, and some pages showed storm closings or short hours; the table gives regular hours (Taco Bell’s Friday hours are left out for that reason), so call before you go. Chipotle Mexican Grill on East 23rd Street, near Highway 77, offers pickup and delivery as well as dine-in, its page says.
Don Jose’s on U.S. 231 holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected Aug. 11, 2026, state records show. It has no website, so we cannot give its hours or menu.
El Jalisco on West 23rd Street is the Panama City location of a regional Mexican restaurant group with a second restaurant in Lynn Haven.
La Michoacana Mexican Restaurant on West U.S. 98 describes itself as cooking with fresh ingredients and real Mexican flavor. It opens at 9 a.m. on weekends.
Los Antojitos on Beck Avenue in St. Andrews is a sit-down Mexican restaurant with a bar and a daily happy hour from 2 to 5 p.m., its site says. It takes online orders.
Los Rancheros Mexican Grill + Bar is on the corner of Jenks Avenue and 23rd Street, its site says. It is the Panama City location of a restaurant that also has a Panama City Beach location.
Maddie’s La Casita on Harrison Avenue is licensed by the state as Maddie’s La Casita Mexican Restaurant & Custard Ice Cream and was last inspected Jan. 5, 2026. It has no website.
Mi Casita Jalisco on West 15th Street holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected Aug. 19, 2026. It has no website.
Pepper’s Mexican Grill and Cantina on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, near 23rd Street, holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected June 2, 2026. It has no website.
San Marcos Mexican Grill at Lindsey Crossing, off U.S. 231, holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected Aug. 21, 2026. The chain’s website did not show this location to us.
Taco Bell on West 23rd Street has a dining room and a late-night drive-thru, and its page lists tacos, burritos, quesadillas and nachos.
Taco Casa on West 23rd Street is a quick-service cafe that makes everything to order and has a dining room, its site says. Its menu includes sanchiladas, chili con queso and burritos, and it takes online orders.
