Sushi and Asian restaurants in Panama City: 23rd Street and St. Andrews

Most of Panama City’s sushi, Japanese and Chinese restaurants are on 23rd Street, with a cluster on West 23rd between Harrison Avenue and Jenks Avenue. Thai food is in historic St. Andrews on Beck Avenue, on East Fifth Street and on Cherry Street.

How we made this list. We started with OpenStreetMap records inside Panama City’s city limits, the same data behind our local directory, and added restaurants from the state’s food service license and inspection records for Panama City, checking each address against the city boundary. We checked every place against its own website on Oct. 10, 2026. Eight places have no website we could read; the state’s records show each with an active restaurant license and an inspection in the past year, and we say so in their entries. Panda Express on East 23rd Street is left out because its store page would not load for us. A hurricane warning was in effect for Panama City when we checked; call before you go. The list is alphabetical. It is not a ranking or a recommendation, and nobody paid to be on it. Run one of these places? Aroi Thai Restaurant & Bar on East Fifth Street holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected June 30, 2026, state records show. Its website blocked our check, so we cannot give its hours.

Basil Asian Cuisine on Beck Avenue in St. Andrews holds a state restaurant license and was inspected Oct. 1, 2026. It has no website.

China One on West 23rd Street holds a state restaurant license and was inspected Sept. 29, 2026. It has no website.

Dragon Bowl Sushi & Asian Fusion on West 23rd Street holds a state restaurant license and was inspected Oct. 7, 2026. It has no website.

Fin’s Japanese Sushi & Grill on West 23rd Street has a sushi bar and a kitchen menu, its site says: cooked and raw rolls, nigiri and sashimi, poke bowls, hibachi-style plates, teriyaki, tempura, noodles and lunch specials, with online ordering.

Jin Jin 88 on West 23rd Street takes online orders through its site, which shows Chinese dishes in its gallery.

M’s Thai Sports Bar on Beck Avenue in St. Andrews holds a state restaurant license and was inspected Aug. 25, 2026. It has no website.

Thai Chef Restaurant on Cherry Street holds a state restaurant license and was last inspected Jan. 8, 2026. It has no website.

Tokyo on East 23rd Street, licensed by the state under that name, was last inspected May 6, 2026. It has no website of its own.

Yume Ramen at 1000 E. 23rd St. holds a state restaurant license and was inspected Aug. 25, 2026. It has no website.
